A Bag A Day Keeps the Doctor Away . . .

This is what I call purse therapy. "A Bag A Day . . . Keeps the Doctor Away". Thank goodness Gabrielle is taking a real interest in Mommies sewing projects. As I cut the fabric I pass the scraps in her direction. Each day she lines up the pieces and tells me all about the dress she is sewing. I sure hope this is a lasting interest. I would love to have her sew side-by-side with me someday.

The purse pictured above was my first sale. I was told what colors to purchase and I had a great time putting the idea together. Little did I know that the graphic artist that I was sewing this for, was currently painting a picture of poppies. She had indicated that she liked black and khaki and she wanted me to pick out her fabrics. I took the liberty of selecting a few fabrics with the brilliant red flowers and the poppie buttons (shown on the pocket). Once I showed her my selection she told me that her favorite color was red. How lucky was I. I had backup fabric just in case.
What fun it was delivering my first purse. Gabrielle enjoyed it too as she had the opportunity to look for frogs in the little man-made pond behind their house with Trevor who is just six months older than she.
