Pink , Pink, Everything Pink

What has happened to my sewing blog? Answer: Life with a 3 year old. We've been very busy since our summer vacation in late June and I've done very little sewing. Between my three year old and Volunteering at the local Montessori school, I feel as though I've lost my hobby.

Thank goodness for simple dresses. This dress was completed during Gabrielle's bath time last week and she loves it.
I used about 3/4rd of a yard of fabric that came pre-gathered at the top edge. I cut a little fabric from the bottom edge to make the skinny straps. I made two fabric tubes about 12 inches long and turned them right side out (this was the most labor intensive step). One seam up the center back and and hem around the bottom was all that was required; however with the addition of the straps and buttons, I added about fifteen minutes to complete the project. This makes a wonderful summer-time dress or a bathing suit cover-up. Cost was less than $5.00. (I bought the fabric on sale). This is a real bargain. Unfortunately when the dress was finished, Gabrielle told me that she wished I would have sewn the pink flowered fabric first!
