Daughter's Wit

While recovering from a broken nose, my husband took my daughter to the card shop to purchase birthday cards for his brother's . . . a job that I normally accomplish. He was talking to the store clerk as he was checking out and said something like, "yes, my wife normally does this, but she is recovering from surgery . . ."

At that my daughter uncertain of what she heard her daddy say exclaimed in shock,

"You have a wife?"

My husband said he was quite embarrassed and said

"Yes, and she is your mother!"
