My mother-in-law turns 80 in June, so for her birthday I have made a quilted purse with multiple interior and exterior pockets. This purse was made with a small piece of Asian inspired designer fabric. The handles and main body of the purse required 1 yard of fabric. The accent pieces required 1/2 yard (black and white asian symbol fabric), and 2 fat quarters (sage green leaf patterned fabric) The bottom of the purse has a fabric covered 1/8 inch thick - plexi-glass insert to create strong base which allows the purse to handle more weight and stand upright without tipping over.
The only problem I see with this purse is giving it away. I loved the fabric. (My mother-in-law will love it too.)
