Western Wear - Washable Suede

Here is my first creation using faux suede on a purse. This is washable material; which I thought made more sense when making a handbag. The front and back pockets were taken from a pair of my husbands old blue jeans. He out-grew them (or should I say under-grew them as his waist is two inches smaller than when we got married!)

The lace doily was to make the purse look more "western". The center piece is an Ancient Chinese Coin. This is a feature I include with all my handbags.

Ancient Chinese Coins: It is said to put this prosperity coins into the purse, wallet, or handbag can bring wealth. I don't know what happens when you put the coin "on" the purse. Maybe your wealth will only be on the surface (I hope not)!

The interior of the purse is kept a light color to make searching easier; however, I felt like the bottom needed a little more pizzazz; otherwise it was too boring.

While making this handbag, my 3 year old daughter kept asking me if I was making a purse for her. That will probably be one of my next projects. A girl can never have enough shoes or purses!
