At the age of 3 1/2, my daughter has been invited to her third birthday party. What fun she will have going to Kelsey's special party coming up the end of December. Kelsey attends pre-school with Gabrielle in the afternoons. In honor of this very special 4th birthday, I have made a jacket for my daughter to give to her friend.
This jacket has been quilted onto a pastel pink crew-neck sweatshirt. The fabric is a beautiful variegated Batik print with hues of pink, peach, gold, and lavender and purple with a shiny gold embellishment resembling branches. I chose to quilt this jacket using a shiny gold thread. I cut a sweetheart neckline and added lavender cuffs, border, and ribbon strips down the front. To make the jacket just a bit more festive, I added cream colored satin ribbons, which were twisted into loops and fastened with hot pink and purple buttons. This streaming ribbon is fastened to the jacket with shiny stars that I removed from barrettes that I purchased from a Dollar store.
The best part about this jacket is that I purchased enough fabric to make more than one. Hey my birthday's in December too!
