Flat Top Cover

Here is one of my latest ideas that I probably will not pursue a patent for; however, I can fill custom orders (made to specifications) as a fund-raiser for my business venture. This is a flat-top stove cover made with heat-resistant material.

I always remove the burner knobs between use to avoid accidentally turning on the stove. The spikes that hold these burner knobs come through button holes made into the top of the quilt which also holds the quilt in position. This flat-top cover is a decorative piece, serves as a reminder to us that it is a stove, protects the top surface from scratches, and can serve as a hot pad when I use this space for dinner buffets.

It has quilted heat resistant material on the back side (material used for ironing boards), and cotton fabric on the top. I minimized the quilting on this cover, but it could be made quite decorative. Instead of using a single fabric, a small applique quilt top could be designed and quilted onto the heat-resistant material. Several versions of this flat-top cover could be made to decorate the kitchen depending on the season.

This cover is not intended to put on top of a stove right after the burner(s) have been shut off; but can be set in place once the hot light indicator turns off.

This cover serves as a reminder to us to handle this surface with care. If you have any interest in a custom made flat-top cover, please send me a comments and I will request measurements to your exact specifications. This will be sold through my new business venture Geneva Girls Designs, LLC.
